+ Learn about Backwash

The term "backwash" is used to describe the cleaning of a Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.) filter. When you back wash, you are reversing the flow of the water out of the filter and into the sewer through your backwash line.

-- Do not Backwash if the air temperature is below 34 degrees.
-- Make sure the pool is full of water
-- Backwashing should be performed at least once per month year-round or when the pressure goes 5-7 psi above normal
